What Is Reiki and How Can It Support You?
Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive healing practice that works with energy. It is often described as universal life force energy — an energy that is present all around us and within us.
This energy carries qualities of peace, harmony, and balance. During a Reiki session, it is guided to support your body and mind in returning to a more natural, aligned state.
From my personal perspective, Reiki represents a pure and supportive energy — one that brings calm, balance, and a sense of being deeply supported.
A Brief History of Reiki
Reiki was rediscovered in Japan by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. Since then, it has been practiced worldwide as a supportive approach for relaxation, stress relief, and overall wellbeing.
How Reiki Works
During a session, I act as a channel for this energy. It flows through my hands to you, supporting your body exactly where it is needed.
Reiki does not depend on belief. You do not need to be spiritual or have any prior experience. The body responds naturally, often activating its own ability to restore and rebalance.
Each session is unique and guided by your individual needs.
Supporting Physical, Mental and Emotional Wellbeing
Reiki supports the whole person — body, mind, and inner awareness.
It can be especially helpful if you are:
Feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or anxious
Low in energy or emotionally drained
Out of balance or disconnected
Recovering from illness or managing physical discomfort
Reiki is also often received by people going through more serious health challenges, as a way to support relaxation, emotional wellbeing, and inner calm.
It is important to understand that Reiki does not replace medical treatment or cure illness. Instead, it supports the body by creating a state of relaxation and balance.
When the mind becomes calmer and the body more at ease, it creates a more supportive environment for the body’s natural healing processes. Many people experience a sense of relief, lightness, and deeper rest.
Reiki for Everyone — and Also for Those on a Deeper Path
Reiki is accessible to everyone.
You do not need to be spiritual, religious, or have any specific beliefs to receive and benefit from it. You can come simply to relax, restore your energy, or take a moment for yourself.
At the same time, Reiki can also support those who are on a more conscious or personal growth journey.
For some, sessions may bring a sense of clarity, new perspectives, or gentle insights. You may find it easier to reflect on your life, understand your emotions, or feel more connected to yourself.
This is not something that needs to happen, and it is never forced. It simply unfolds if and when it is needed.
What You May Feel During a Session
Every person experiences Reiki differently. You may notice:
Warmth or coolness in the body
Tingling or gentle sensations
A feeling of deep relaxation
A floating or light sensation
A calm and peaceful state
Sometimes the experience is subtle, sometimes more noticeable. Both are completely normal.
Clearing Common Misconceptions
There are a few important things to understand:
You do not need to believe in Reiki for it to work
You do not need to be spiritual or follow any practices
You do not need to understand it
Reiki meets you exactly where you are.
A Gentle Invitation
Reiki offers you a space to pause, slow down, and reconnect with yourself.
Whether you come for physical support, emotional balance, or simple relaxation, you will receive what your body needs in that moment — a sense of calm, harmony, and support.
